Glad I was one that did hear of him. He did a gig in Fountain Green, Utah in 1999 at my music store. We had permits for 44 seats. Sold 163 tickets with people sitting behind him on the stage. he did about 10 encores. He was with Nashville Mandolin Ensamble at the time. They played later that evening at our house. What a kind man and great player.

Although the group plays the piece too fast it's clear that Baldassari (who died yesterday, RIP)
understood the tune better than all those guitarists who learn from guitarists instead of fiddlers.
