Kent SportCasts first event of 2009 held in the stunning rural location of Milstead.
Not so much a tournament as an enjoyable way to spend the day in the relaxed and friendly company of fellow "lead chuckers".
These regularly held events are open for casters of ALL abilities to test themselves either against the tape measure in search of that elusive PB or their compatriots for bragging rights on the beach.
Help and advice on all casting matters is always on offer and the free flowing light-hearted banter helps relieve any 'Oche' tension.
Casting events like this mean different things to different people.Many look upon casting as a valuable asset to their fishing skills portfolio, increasing their options on the beach.
Some don't actually fish at all and just enjoy the 'crack' of a casting day ( No pun intended ) and the challenge of beating their personal bests.
For others it's a legitimate reason to spend the day in a sheep field wearing wellies!
Several of the clubs big guns were missing on the day,perhaps fishing the European Beach Championships at Bridlington and I would love to have captured their efforts to enhance this clip.Also I apologise to the guys who took part and whose casts I didn't get to video on the day. In my defence I didn't hatch the idea of making this film until after the event and I regret not getting at least one of everybody's casts - maybe next time though !
