Here is my favorite song. Instead of getting sick of this song after giving it one too many spins, I just love it more. A really wonderful production and an amazing vocal on the part of Ronnie Walker. In case you're curious, I'm using an AT150MLX cartridge. The sound quality of this 45 is utterly stunning. Unfortunately, the highs were altered a bit when I uploaded it to Youtube.

  • Excellent sound. Nice song. I'm thinking of getting an At150MLX vs an AT440MLa for my Thorens TD 160. It's the lowest price I've found for either, though the AT150MLX is over twice the cost. I'd appreciate any recommendation or review you might have of your pesonal experience having one. It seems to be a few steps above the AT440MLa which is so highly recommended. Thanks.

  • Do you know the mass of your tonearm? The compliance on the AT150MLX is at about ten, so I'd think a medium mass tonearm is a good match. It makes sense since the Japanese S-Curve tonearm featured on AT's turntables was designed to be matched with moving magnet carts.

I don't own an AT440MLa, but I have heard them in action. The At150MLX's seperation just blows me away. It also gives a slightly cleaner play than the 440. Apparently you can use a 150 stylus in a 440 as an upgrade

  • @MrPJSoul The effective mass of the TP-16 MK1 tonearm on my table is 16.5 grams. I currently have an AT95E on it and it sounds quite good. 100 times better than the Shure M97xE that I did have on it and decided I could no longer tolerate. I'm starting to understand how important these match-ups are. The AT150MLX I also think would look very attractive on it. It's just one of those cartridges I recently noticed that's within my budget. I think the table deserves something really nice. Thx FTRpy.

  • This seems like a very good matchup. I looked a similar matchup on google.. In this case a TP-16 MK1 and a Blue Point Special is used. The BPS has a compliance of 12 and is only .6 grams heavier than the AT150MLX. In the case of this matchup, they're resonating at 9.0016 hz. Just from a preliminary look at the numbers, I'd use a low to medium mass tonearm.

The only prob I've had with the AT150MLX yet was with an Orlons album. The space between the tracks excited the cart, and it wiggled.

  • you are very kind

  • You are as well Ronnie. You blessed the world with some real musical gems
