A beautiful city...

This was important to me.

Today, in 2008, I took the time to visit Place Royale, which is the birthplace of North America.

This was founded by Samuel de Champlain in 1608, eighteen years before the Mayflower brought the settlers who would found Plymouth.

400 years ago this year, a french colony was established.

We survived. We stand there still.

This was important to me.

An oooold europeen town. Yes. But in other areas of Quebec, Montreal and the Eastern Townships, you have some very english architecture.

FYI, the city of Montreal was founded by British, French, Irish and Scottish immigrants. There's been an italian and a chinese community here for generations.

So the influences are often europeen, but everybody brought something from home.

Negative. I knew what kind of crowd would be there.

All day, I was in Quebec hoping the folks wouldn't get any rain. Low and behold, the weather held and they had a perfect evening.

A stelar even no matter if I was there or not. I'm so happy for the people of Quebec City, they deserved nothing else.
