if u get the ipod touch 2g dont upgrade the ipod cuz in 3.1.1 or 3.1.2 or w.e u wont be able to jailbreak it u gonna have to downgrade it =/ which is a pain in the ass happen to me =/

I know on 3.1 you can jailbreak, you just have to re jailbreak it each time you start up. I plan to upgrade it to 3.0 and jailbreak it there. No sense in getting the 3rd gen since it's the same hardware, just with an OS version that's harder to jailbreak! :)

Ha the ipod touch is fantastic! You need to send me a video when you jailbreak it, i would love to see what you can do with it
