OpenAudience allows you to listen to audio as if you were inside the audio itself.
If you have multiple microphones recording the audio (perhaps in an orchestra or on a sound stage) you can "arrange" the microphones virtually to where you are, or move yourself virtually inside the sound scene. You can also apply different codecs to the sound.
This video demonstrates the control interface that was ported to an Openmoko FreeRunner (www.openmoko.org) phone.
Software was created at the University of Sao Paulo, Brasil as an open, collaborative project by Dr. Regis Rossi A. Faria (http://www.lsi.usp.br/interativos/neac/audience/index_e.htm) and ported to the Openmoko FreeRunner phone running the OpenMoko operating system (www.openmoko.org)
