Btw, I only have a couple of guesses where the term "ship" came from, but I heard (never confirmed) that the name "slash" for gay romance pairings came from Kirk/Spock. It used to be labeled "k/s" decades ago as a secret code when it was much harder to spread stories of gay romances, and that slash mark came to be used for other gay pairings (including lesbian) as well, and thus the term "slash."
I don't know if that's true or not, just what I've heard.
Fan fiction (including art, made up trailers like these, etc) often have pairings. Traditional male/female is known as "ship" (and those into them as "shippers"), and the term is increasingly being used to fans of real life romances, actual or just desired (eg, "Niley" for Nick Jonas + Miley Cyrus, or "Nelena" for Nick + Selena Gomez, and these "shipper wars" can get nasty!).
When the "ship" is 2 of the same sex, it's called "slash." Femslash is lesbian, but often slash is just called slash.
Very short, but also very sweet. Great choices :D!
