The palm pre is junk. I had one for 2 years and finally scraped it for the new iPhone 4s. I'll have to see how well this phone will hold up but from the weight of this thing and the way it's build i think it'll last til I am due for a new phone.

@BlackSpid3y Yup, really. It's odd that they don't make more of a fuss of it, but it really does have 3G. As for the HTC, I'm afraid I don't know.

@BlackSpid3y You should also be aware that Palm has just been bought by HP. This is both good news and bad news in my opinion. HP is most likely to be buiyng Palm for the WebOS of the Pre. It's not clear whether they will be investing in the Pre directly and may choose to go with a new line up of smartphones.
Palm have been very slow to open their SDK so there's not a lot of apps for the Pre at the moment. With HP buying them, there's likely to be a slow period until HP's new plans begin.

Well, I'm in the UK.
Looking at the O2 website, an 8GB Palm Pre with 1200 minutes, 500 texts and unlimited web and wifi use is £45 a month and the phone is free
And an iPhone 3G 8GB (not 3GS) with 1200 minutes, 500 text and unlimited web and wifi is £45 a month and the phone is free.
Exactly the same.
