Iceland Airwaves with múm, Kira Kira,... (AB, 8 March '08)

AB has had a musical link with Iceland for a while. So it was that, for the first time in Belgium, AB presented (indoor)shows from the likes of SIGUR RÓS ('00), MÚM ('01) and VALGEIR SIGURÐSSON ('07). All-female quartet AMIINA, EMILIANA TORRINI's whisper-pop, JAGÚAR's exciting funk, STILLUPSTEYPA's experimental music and also jazz guitarist HILMAR JENSSON have also all previously passed the AB stage.

So, together with Bozar, AB is glad to fill in the musical ('pop') part of the programme for the Icelandic music festival ICELAND ON THE EDGE that will take place in the spring of '08 in AB and BOZAR (including a small excursion to the Kultuurkaffee of the VUB) as part of an initiative instigated by Iceland's chairmanship of the European Free Trade Association in '08.

Kira Kira is breathtaking in this, the video display of the synchronized swimmer is beautiful. I wish I had seen it in person.
