Commencement comes out of the water and we get a look at the damage and the underside of the hybrid hovercraft fireboat. Hard sides, skirts front and back. Screened cones are water intake for the pumps, only operational in displacement mode. The lines hold the front skirt in place, one tore out. The large rectangular holes near the front skirt are where air is blown under the boat, lifting it into hover mode. The hard sides are only a feww inches wide and remain in the water in hover mode. This allows for speeds of approximately 30 knots.
