I believe it's both, but there are Sufi dancers who get into a sort of trance mode and spin for hours on end, which is their method of getting "closer to god".

The possibility of being able to experience the world through a video on YouTube is what makes this exceptional. I am actually looking for dance music tracks that feature Sufi devotional singers because I read this fusion has been made and is becoming popular in the United States. The qalandri sufi order has the same roots!! It is a state that often takes the Chishti sufis, as well, but they don't do it deliberately, but with constant remembrance of Allah, it just overtakes them!!
