This was the biggest mistake in the history of any TV series.Killing off Catherine ruined everything.

This is a beautiful video and a bitter sweet tribute to love. It's no wonder the show ended after only three seasons. You can't kill off one of the main characters and it will go on. I wonder who's bright idea that was? I would like to see a movie made and perhaps they can chalk up season three to one big long nightmare that Vincent has and then wakes up to find Chatherine is still alive.

I know people are made that they killed her off but i honestly believed that since she wasn't coming back and that the show couldn't go on without her, they knew it and so they had to come up with something to end the series right and this was how.

Her death and him getting his son back.

they wanted to resolve the show and since she died in season three they had to give the fans the satisfaction of him getting his son back. one last season to tie up lose ends and give Vincent a happy ending.

To Paisley Place, yes I remember the Halloween episode. I remember them all. It was my favorite show. And although all these years have passed it still remains my favorite. I guess I am a romantic at heart not to mention that Beauty and the Beast was my favorite fairy tale when I was a child. With all this garbage about vampires that the kids love, there truly will never be such a love story.

@33winterbirds Do you remember the Halloween epi where Vincent goes to the Masked Ball to meet Bridget, the writer of 300 Days against Father's wishes? He was listening w/the children as Father read a scary story & the kids ask for more but he sends them off; then he mentions how Vincent wouldn't have missed a good reading of Ichabod Crane.Father explains how characters were like old friends; every now & then we needed to check on them to see how they're doing. I loved it! He WAS Father.

@Wakishea S3 was not that bad. The new Beauty was a rather spunky character. Despite this I hate the ending as it heavily implied that Vincent developed feelings for the new Beauty. You could interpret it as either a strong sense of friendship or romance on his part ... I feel it is leaning more towards the latter. It would be cruel for us to want Vincent to stay true to Catherine and suffer in silence, but I simply could not accept the short span of time for him to fall for a new woman.

If I had known that Catherine would have died...I would have never started to watch this series. It pisses me off so bad! I loved the first and second season...loved it. They ruined it this way! They should have just ended it with season 2 instead of killing her off and going on with season three. Ugh!

I believe most of us were disappointed with the producers and those involved responsible for murdering our little romantic fantasy. I really can't believe that they killed off Catherine. They could have ended it differently. Since LH doesn't want to be part of the series anymore, they could have filmed the ending first ... a HAPPY ending. Then the rest they could add in all the death and darker theme that they wanted. Bringing in a new Beauty seems pointless as it nulls the whole Bond thing.

I agree. I could have dealt more with someone else playing Catherine, instead of just killing her character off. For Vincent's love for her, would have prevented another love interest like Diana. And if he didn't have a child with Catherine, I believe Vincent would have killed himself or just dies from a heartbreak.
