I remember graduating in the mid-90's and the library had only 1 computer with a 15K modem for internet access and was reserved for special research projects.

@jimcarreyhimself No maybe that's someone near the camera.

You can figure out this was in the "Steve Jobs away" period when he says "low-end PowerPC"

It looks stupid for young people of 2011, but things like Panorama (and within the browser!) and Streaming were very clever and impressive. Everybody were having a that "wow!" expression on their face when they saw them.
MIDI indeed was ideal because of the bandwith (speed rate) we had at that time.
This was the time when downloading a MP3 file "for free" on the Internet took 3 hours and hence cost more than buying the CD at your local store!

@kytbrdr I'm glad they got rid of those extra features QuickTime had, since they are no longer necessary. But yeah, in 1996, that was pretty friggin' awesome. :)

at 0:13 you hear someone say "hmm, go back there...", does he get instructions or what?

This era of the internet was so much fun.

I feel like punching him in the face just listening to him!

I never knew quicktime was the first to allow partially downloaded videos to play. Thats something we use everyday now, look at youtube.

So Quicktime was, in essence, the first program to stream internet video. Pretty impressive considering it was only 1996.
