@Caleidus agree 100% with your good comments and I add that Tesla was not even a scientist , he was an engineer who made some inventions in involving industriy upon a previous theoretical work by such scientists as Faraday or Rontgen, if we talk of physics and electromagnetics he was closer to a donkey rather than a real scientist , nor he made any real project of a radio neither he ever made any experiment about wireless radio transmission ( he didn't own any scientific knowledge about )

Tesla's apparatus was not meant to be used for radiotransmission !! He wanted to use 20-30 milions of volts and conductors long miles. In the Marconi apparatus it was not about to generate, as in the Tesla experience, high level voltages at high frequency with micro-current but alternating voltages at a set frequency and polarization with high level of current. Tesla was not able to repeat Marconi's results even after 1895. Marconi created the only working radiotransmission apparatus!

@Caleidus Most of us, think of Guglielmo Marconi as the father of radio, and Tesla is unknown for his work in radio. Marconi claimed all the first patents for radio, something originally developed by Tesla. Nikola Tesla tried to prove that he was the creator of radio but it wasn't until 1943, where Marconi's patents were deemed invalid; however, people still have no idea about Tesla's work with radio.

@Caleidus As early as 1892, Nikola Tesla created a basic design for radio. On November 8, 1898 he patented a radio controlled robot-boat. Tesla used this boat which was controlled by radio waves in the Electrical Exhibition in 1898, Madison Square Garden.

Tesla's robot-boat was constructed with an antenna, which transmitted the radio waves coming from the command post where Tesla was standing. Those radio waves were received by a radio sensitive device called coherer.

His final sentence was: " The fact that the Marconi's discoveries didn't create any scientific progress, since these kind of progresses had already being previewed, is just the result of a fallacious retrospective vision". The 1943 Supreme Court case decision that so excites some is interesting to read - the dispute revolves more around connecting an inductor and antenna *this way* instead of *that way*, and in no place ever says anything like "Tesla invented radio, so there!". The dissenting opinions should also be read. Tesla wasn't even a party to the suit (and Marconi himself was dead for years before it was decided). There's a reason Tesla is obscure and Marconi is celebrated - Marconi made it work.
