@AliceInWonderlandSyn I admire him more for taking a stand for the truth. I'm a Southerner though. Ofcourse it looks bad on the surface, but I love that he's speaking the truth.

Regardless if you agree with everything Dr. Paul says (and I'm with him on a lot of things), is he trying to destroy his image? I'm sorry, but when you give a speech in front of a confederate flag, it just sends the wrong message (and I hate political correctness), but for a politician, it just doesn't look good :(

@AliceInWonderlandSyn Yes, it doesn't look good, so we need to make it clear to people that Paul has opposed slavery, and said it never should have been permitted in the US to begin with, only supports that it should have been ended without a war, as it was in 11 other countries in our hemisphere. We need to elect Paul, a man so against the wars that are impoverishing and killing us, that he thinks about how wars *in the past* could have been avoided.
What are the circumstances behind this speech? Where was it given?

@MrsPottsify This speech was giving at a Southern Historical Conference in Schertz, TX in 2003.
