Seriously, if you can already juggle 5 balls and you are already working on 6 balls, this video might not be helpful at all...

Anyone who has spent enough time juggling to learn several basic patterns with 3, 4, and 5 balls will probably already know enough about juggling to be able to learn 6 balls on their own without any trouble.. I only made this video because I have had several requests for it over the last couple years, and I have a lot of free time right now..

This video is not so much of a "how to juggle 6 balls" video, but more of a "thoughts about learning 6ball juggling" video.. or something like that...

Some people can obtain a SOLID 5 ball pattern in less than a year.. 6 balls will probably take you at least a couple of years before you can even begin to think it might be solid. Good luck!

If you aren't a very proficient 5ball juggler, check out my 5ball tutorial first. There are a lot of practice techniques in the 5ball video that can also be applied to learning 6ball juggling, and there is a segment that demonstrates a practical way to hold / catch / release 3 balls from one hand.

And if you are not yet familiar with siteswap notation, you really should be. Watch my siteswap tutorial:

There is always a lot of discussion between jugglers about what 6 ball pattern is the easiest to juggle. It really depends on what YOU spend the most time practicing. Sync fountain is considered to be more difficult than async fountain (especially for longer runs), and 'wimpy' is usually considered to be the easiest non-multiplex 6b pattern even though some people never practice wimpy, therefore it is more difficult for some jugglers. Some people never practice multiplexing, so patterns such as [33] or ([64],[64])(6,6)(2,2) seem much more difficult even though I think they are incredibly easy. Half-shower patterns have always given me trouble with 5+ balls, even though some people find 6b halfshower much less strenuous than the fountain patterns.

In my opinion, the 6 ball asynchronous fountain is the easiest and most practical way to juggle 6 balls. So, this video mostly covers practice tips to possibly help you learn the 6 ball async fountain.

There are many other things about 6b juggling that I failed to mention in this video, but it is likely you will discover most of it on your own while practicing 6 balls. This video (and this description) is already WAY longer than it really needs to be... If you have any further questions regarding 6ball practice, feel free to message me or leave a comment.

I just realized that I don't necessarily demonstrate very much 6 ball juggling in this video.. I promise I really can juggle 6 balls, hahahaa.. check out my other youtube channel for further evidence of this..

  • I think you underestimate the usefulness of practicing 3 in each hand while working on 6. I have been doing 3 in each hand (mostly my weak hand) a lot lately and seen a lot of improvement. I stop and collect while doing this when I break the fountain pattern or start to turn and it has solidified a lot.

  • @WhalePhobia I agree practicing 3-in-1-hand is very useful for 6... what I meant to imply was once you have a pretty good handle on 3-in-1-hand with both hands, it's better to just start practicing 6 rather than trying to "perfect" 3-in-1-hand. Anyway, the advice in this video is not truth or fact, just my opinions based on my experience. I almost always still warm up with 3-in-1-hand for a minute before practicing 6.

  • Is it possible to lean 6 before 5 because 6 looks more simple to me for some reason.

  • @blackwaterboy2 Possible, yes. Practical, no. It's probably counterproductive to even bother trying to flash 6 before you can do short runs of 5.

  • im good at 6 now i can get 77 catches when i watched this video i was thinking that throwing them higher will make me soon get 90 catches ive also got 13 catches of 7 and 8 catches of 8 and i think i should do my 7 balls a bit higher because low is hard please comment back!

  • @KARLOSTAR100 I have seen some great jugglers juggle low and fast while other great jugglers juggle high and slow. There is not a "correct" way, just try lots of different things and go with what feels most comfortable for you. Hope that helps!

  • @Reverbdude No, a lot of people get us confused. Thegoheads is just some guy that kinda looks like me. He is a real jerk too.

  • good tutorial man, when you broke it down into the 4 balls with secret extra time it seemed like a really good thing for me to practice!
