  • The Top Notes original 1961 version was produced ("supervised") by Phil Spector. The hit version by The Isley Brothers in 1962 was produced by the writer of the song, Bert Russell Berns. Berns also wrote "Cry Baby", "Cry to Me", "I Want Candy", "Hang on Sloopy", "Piece of My Heart", "Tell Him", and "Here Comes the Night". He incorporated the crescendo and Latin rhythms in his songs. It was his production that made The Isley Brothers version and The Beatles version a hit..

  • @EbruFan95 It wouldn't be a beatles version without this one :)

  • I especiall like the loose bass string which gives it sucha raw edge. This is a truly wonderful rendition. Speed's right too. And how about that raunchy sax sol! THE B-E-S-T!

  • @EbruFan95 The original is great - very urban, hectic and up-beat. The Isley rothers did a fantastic Latin rythm version. This song is one of the best examples of how good covers get the best out of a tune.

  • Supervised by a young Phil Spector... a risk-taker

  • Ricky Riccardo does the twist!

  • hahaha, ok... the isley brothers has more feeling!...soul if if you wanna call it like that haha

  • I like beatles
