Here is another video of my old 1967 Mustang Junior gas powered promotional car built by the Powercar company of Mystic CT back in 67.
These were used by dealers to attract customers into their showrooms by the children dragging them in to get a free test drive in a Junior.
Of course while they waited in line Mom and Dad were easy picking for salesmen trying to sell full size cars.
sometimes dealers would then have prize drawings and would give the little cars away when the kids would fill out the form that gave the salesmen Mom and Pops name, address, phone number etc. so that the salesman could contact them for years to come.

Go to http://www.jrcentral.com for more information on powered promotional cars. And if you are looking for parts to restore one or build one from scratch a list of available parts can be found at http://www.jrcentral.com/resources.html

These are not power wheels they are much bigger and more detailed.

  • Where can I buy one of these

  • @JacobeeBailey They have not been produced for over 40 years and they did not make many when they were made so finding an original will be hard and expensive. Luckily I make enough parts to recreate one but they are still not cheap. follow the link in the description.

  • What kind of drivetrain does this have?

Do you estimate the drivetrain in one of these would hold up to about 45 horsepower/79lbs torque?

  • The original drivetrain is a 3HP Briggs and Stratton and the reversing transmission would not handle more than 5HP. The original frames were not meant for speed or power they were meant to attract attention. There are plenty of regular go karts that go fast. These were for looks and fun not speed

  • how many HP????

  • This 1967 Mustang Junior has a 3hp Briggs and Stratton model 80302 motor. If you watch one of my other videos of the drive train from my 1966 Mustang JR that I am building you will see an identical motor and clutch setup.
