This is my first video that is over 10 seconds long YAY. This is my first short film (Well not really film since I shot it on a camcorder) Anyway this is my first video with story and a plot. This was the first time I was directing something that is pretty long. I was also the cinematographer.
Will Helms is my cousin and he played the prankster in the video and you can find him at his Youtube Channel here: http://www.youtube.com/user/evgeniNABBYnabokov
This video was shot on a Canon HV30 and we used a Radioshack laveliear mic for dialoge and a Audio Technica ATR25 for other sounds.
I made the effects corny and unrealistic on purpose. Thanks for watching!!!
The music is Seventeen Years by Ratatat and the other is from Video Copilots Designer Sound Effects.

  • say quit your job and be an editor... the editing really worked, the camera work was under exposed and sloppy

  • It was actually over exposed, I used some vignetting to tone it down, but I used a retarded codec so when hosted on YT back in the day, it got really dark.

  • JBL Balboa 8 subwoofer you got there?

  • Somebody knows their subwoofer's ;)

  • from 0:28 - :030, did you have the camera on manuel focus? because everything is blurry.

  • haha i thought it was funny

  • that was great, keep up the good work, im gonna go watch some more of your work now

  • @experimentalSounds i put mine in the microwave!!! hahaha

  • Good stuff

  • tape is video, hard drive is video, flash memory is video. Everything, but pure film (not tape) is technically film.

But yea it's okay to call it a film. Most videos with stories and stuff are called films. The Red Movie camera doesn't use film, so technically it's actually video.

  • @sonicballer8888 Yeah you're right. I remember afterwards I yanked it out and held it. She was cold.. I guess I didnt have to worry as much ;)

  • @experimentalSounds

it's not like that's dangerous. People film outside in the winter when it's 0 degrees, and the HV30 is fine. It's not going to be damaged because of a a 37 degree fridge.

  • Jesus, you put an HV30 in a fridge, good Lord..
