Actually the easiest way to do this in ubuntu is go to system then administration then software sources. Then check all the boxes, then set your server to your local one (mine is U.S.) (optional) press close then reload. After that go to applications then add/remove then go to internet then find thunderbird, check the box next to it and click apply changes. It is easy from there.
plz hlp-sum password thing happens randomly(when i log out,it says we need a password to log in,but we havent set on,and there is no hint-it is random).my dad doesnt no how to check his mail on my desktop,so he goes on his.wen i go on mine,the password thing usually happens.i went to account settings and added his name/email,but i dont think he can get mail-dont u need to enter in a password or sumtin?

that will only install the latest version in your local repo, not the latest version available.
