Album - Leo Kottke Anthology
Pamela Brown

I wasn't aware that Tom T. Hall wrote this song until one of the viewers of this song enlightened me. I feel that Leo took his song and made it his own. A song many men can relate to, whatever the name of their lost love was

  • @adelaidejetboy I'm glad that this song brings good memories to you. My father introduced me to Leo's music and this was our favorite. Thanks for your comment

  • @37Flat I guess I'll have to take you're word on that. Pamela seems to leave a lot of heartache in her wake. Be careful :)

  • @gattosub It's to bad that the love of your life didn't work out the way you wanted it to. Many people don't get to experience the feeling of finding that perfect person. The trick is keeping that relationship going, or learning from your mistakes and appreciating the next person for what they can contribute to your life. Good luck in finding another person to make you complete. Thank you for your contribution to my comment board

  • @minewa I've never had the opportunity to experience "goose farts on a muggy day", so I'll have to take John Fahey's expertise on that one. Leo's voice has all the charm of someone singing with a sore throat and yet it leaves a lasting impression. I wasn't aware that Tom T. Hall had written Pamela Brown and so, my hat goes off to him. I took it for granted that Leo took it upon himself to write lyrics to one of his songs. Thanks for your comments and for visiting my vid

  • I recall reading a magazine article over 30 years ago, an interview with Leo Kottke where the journalist quoted Leo's daughter, who was a wee young'un at the time, as saying "Oh Daddy, please don't sing!" (The magazine left the quote in because both Leo and the author thought it was sweetly funny). Listening to "Pamela Brown", you can hear a nice, easygoing, understated voice that fits the song perfectly and shades the words in all the right places, and I bet Leo's little girl now thinks so too.

  • @MrJamesrnolan I can't picture anyone else who could do a better job of singing Pamela Brown. I really appreciate your comment and thanks for being a fan of Leo's

  • My late Father loved Leo and loved this version of Pamela Brown. One of the only gigs we ever went to together was Leo Kottke and yes, he played this song. My Dad was smiling from ear to ear after that gig. Thanks Leo.

  • fuck thats my favorite. sure all we have our own pamela. yeah I love you Leo :)

  • it must be the name and not the last name lol my dad used to sing this song to me as a kid and i loved it being a pamela my self makes it even more funnier and some words are very true

  • Mary Ann Catford where are you now ??

  • fuckin' awesome, simple song. Perfect.

  • i sure wish he wouldn't have quit singing.

  • @gattosub I think you've missed the point. His life was better because she dumped him. "Especially for what she did FOR me". Go make your life better.

  • I have met "Pamela Brown" several times, and she allways went for the easy winners :)
