itsa tiny tesla coils im trying to tune it i have seen 1 or 2 other tesla coils on youtube that were working great powered by an ignition coil i have followed there ways to exact dimensions and materials but have gotten very dissapointing output and even more dissapointing output from using tesla builder programs if somone who has made one work very good then please let me know your setup
the spark really isnt that weak the camera dosent seem to catch the massive amount of corona that forms over everything on the topload and the sparks appear bright blue to the naked eye just the camera isnt to great at taking videos the height of the actual winding is only about 5 or 6 inches tall it puts out a massive amount of rf that the computer and phone picks up about 30 feet away my car radio pick it up to pretty cool

I don't think you will get much better results
My 1 inch tesla had a pancake primary coil - made from the heater winding out of a MOT- the small red winding
Your top load is quite a distance from the end of the secondary coil - try lowering it - That is all I can think of
Tiny coils are very difficult to tune -
I am surprised the sparks are so weak ( thin)if you are driving the ignition coil with a dimmer switch and 110 or 240 volts.
Where is your spark gap?
