@MustyOldBooks Canal Plus probably probably got "in house" translators, voice over actors or they hire random people to do the job. If you were to go to their website and check their Document section you would hear some familiar voices, the same actors do voice-overs for Syndicated American Shows and original Documents.

You probably had that bias assumption toward French before that video. You expected it, looked for it and found it. By the way, i own multiple firearms and i CCW, no O.C.

@MustyOldBooks There was no attempt by Canal+ to portray anyone as unsophisticated. Do u speak French, R U familiar / France? I doubt it. I live n the US now & i can tell a " Hick, redneck from an educated Southerner, it's all n the tone of voice, accent & choice of vocabulary.

Your French bias radar was on & you missed everything else. Both Pierce & Stanley have effeminate voice and manner but Stanley' s voice over sounded masculine and aggressive. My homophobic radar was on i guess.

"Mad dog" and Armed Store-owner " stickers along with Open Carrying wont deter criminals, they just give'em an idea of what kinda resistance they should expect, so they come ready. It's the element of surprise that counts.

My French is rusty but most of what is spoken is simply translating what the people in the video are saying in English into French.

There are a few subliminal efforts to bias the viewer such as the unflattering French voice over of John Pierce. Compare his voice over translation to that of the "sophisticated" voice over of Colin Goddard at the end.

Not as biased as MSNBC but, for a French viewer, it is an unflattering portrayal of Open Carry.
