Anyone who watched the full race that day would know that Kimi had it coming. He was braking too hard too late all the way through and had locked up and damaged his front tyres a number of times. I remember Martin Brundle commenting on it well before the final lap. It was a spectacular race but Alonso was the deserved winner.

this was the ultimate in BAD LUCK. That's the only reason why Kimi didn't win it that year. He had 7 wins and 6 more podiums i think but in the other 3-4 races he had DNF. Fucking Alonso was lucky, Kimi was the deserved winner of that championship
