russia is not a huge threat anymore, their nuclear stockpile decreased after the cold war and their military is three times smaller now than what it was during the cold war. So try to think about present day instead of the cold war. Besides we have a Missile Defense System so that will help us somewhat. like you said please don't reply me don't bother just think ;)
