According to RoSPA, when using booster seats, the lap belt should be (i) tight and (ii) fall across the pelvis NOT the stomach... the CG-Lock lets you achieve this, easily, EVERY trip...

  • Whether the boy is purposefully moving or not, it shows that you cannot move that freely with the CG Lock. I've been in cars with these...they really lock you in place and keep you from sliding around. Haven't you seen kids in cars who can't stay still - moving all over - then you hit a bump and they practically fall on the ground? This video shows you can't do that with the CG Lock. If race car drivers like it, I trust it. They travel in worse conditions than any mom.

  • Wow, that really shows the effectiveness of the CG-Lock. No longer just a trackday drivers essential.

  • @MorganandEedna I think you will find they have been crash tested to FMVSS208 and 213, and passed with flying colors. SOME (few) seatbelts lock by themselves, and if so, that's the whole belt, lap and sash portion. This product cinches the lap portion only, holding the occupant firmly in place. The only 'bunch of crap' I see is a comment made by someone who 1) does not understand the product and 2) is ignorant to the facts, tests, testimonials and endorsements the product has received.

  • The child does seem a bit big however it does highlight a well known problem of slack creeping into the lap belt (especially with fidgety kids!), leading to a far from ideal situation should a crash occur... the road safety charity BRAKE recently awarded the device a 'highly commended' rating based on the crash test data and the many saved lives on file... watch it again and ask which scenario you'd want...

  • you clearly have never driven with kids with booster seats! They ALWAYS tip and rock... and it is not uncommon for them to be ejected when in a car accident... this product picked up a (road safety charity) BRAKE award for safety...

  • The carseat harnesses strap the child into the child seat... but then the carseat has to be held in to position ON the car seat... so the CG-Lock has a role to fix the childseat or booster seat to the car seat. Harnesses are good when replacing the inertia reel belt, but then the hassle of fitting them every time to the right tension leads to errors.

  • 5pt.harness carseats are now avaiilable up to 80lbs in some countries, would that not be a better opion than this silly thing???

  • I know some car seat manufacturers used to include locking clip with the same function as this. A simple piece of metal locked the bottom strap to the shoulder strap by the buckle. Don't manufacturers include them anymore?

  • okay 1) hes PURPOSELY moving, he can control his movement hes like 10 amd 2) those arent crash tested even though they claim to be this really is a bunch of crap! Seatbelts lock by themselves!
