Domestically

1) High unemployment, high interest rates, and high inflation.
2) The rising energy cost were the peoples fault and they were the ones who have to change.

Internationally

1) The Soviet Union invaded Afghanistan.
2) A Soviet backed government took power in Nicaragua.
3) Worst of all: Carter refused to back the Shah of Iran, resulting in the Islamic fundamentalist state of Iran that we have today.

And how did the Islamist thank Jimmy Carter for helping them coming to power? By taking over the U.S. Embassy and holding the Americans hostage.

Jimmy Carter was trying to get the government to live within it's means, don't think we will run out of all the oil as in the next decade as more than a decade ago however there is a limit to it and hard to get it, have miners going thousand of feet under ground to find coal and thousands of feet underwater to find oil is only going to last so long. Reagan ran up credit bill got us farther in debt while Carter tried to get U.S. out of debt.

Usually when a President says that he means THE GOVERNMENT should be spendthrift. But Carter and Obama mean THE PEOPLE should live that way AFTER the GOVERNMENT takes our money away. That is one of the many things that makes the both douchebags.
