Peter White and Grover Washington, Jr.- event for CD101.9 @ J&R Music World NYC 1997

Filmed Dec. 9, 1997. I (Peter White) had the distinct honor to play with one of my heros, the legendary Grover Washington, Jr. at J&R Music World in NYC, hosted by Pat Prescott for radio station CD101.9. This was the only time I ever got to play live with Grover. He sadly passed away in December 1999.

This is brilliant. And the reason I love YouTube, to get to see such finds, now that we've lost our only jazz station CD101.9 in NY, as well. Thank YOU for posting it, Peter. It must have felt so special, to play with one of your heroes. Grover Washington's music is very much a part of the Smooth Jazz world today, as is yours. It was fun to see him reacting to your guitar and enjoying the music you made together. If you haven't figured by now, I'm your Facebook friend from LI. :)
