Thought this was an interesting video when I saw it on a finance site. I know it's already on YouTube but it won't hurt to share this with more people.
I'll be making a video discussing a topic that deals with the theme of this young man's story

  • how much money did he start off with?

and how much earnings per year did he get.

no offense but this is an amateurish report

  • I agree. The report was a bit weak. I suspect it's like that because it was made for PBS.

  • He's only a fucking idiot spending over $1000 in shoes a year. Way to save! Idiot.

And there are no 14 year olds on Varsity.

  • His money. No point having money if you can't enjoy it. It's not as though he's not reinvesting some of it anyway. This video was not about "saving". It was about "investing". 2 entirely different things.

And in response to the comment you left on my channel, ...ok.

  • The video completely fails to mention how much of it was the result of his investing strategies versus how much capital he started out with. Complete failure on the part of the interviewer.

It starts out talking about how the reason he got into this was because his mother was having a rough time with her finances and was trying to teach him financial responsibility.

I'm sorry, but a 14 yr old who spends about $100 a month on sneakers isn't what I'd call "financially responsible."

  • I see your argument and I agree. I would love to know how much he started off with. The reason as I posted this video was because his mother taught herself and then taught her son. This to me was inspirational and what I think black families need to be doing.

You have to keep in mind his income isn't only coming from stocks, and as he said, he is a sneakers collector.

  • The only one who fails here is you! Be proud of his accomplishments, instead of finding minor faults. I'm an 18 year-old Oreo in college, and I know very little about stocks, but that will change soon...

  • everyones talking shit, lol, "he will be broke , this is nothing". The kid is fucking 14 years old investing in stocks. Imagine the knowledge he will have when he is older. Sounds like a bunch of jealous haters, debbi the downer type haters , lol,

  • that's acting right there 0:37

  • ok 50,000 at 14 years old...there are still kids who are worth even more than that.its no big deal

  • I know the parents are extremely proud! Glad to see that his childhood isn't compromised by money either (video games, nikes, messy room). Smart brothas, that's what I want to see...

  • @Kiratsuchii That was 2 years ago, homie. Let it go. And yes, the schools with the least amount of talent do have to pull freshmen to play on their varsity teams. That doesn't really say much except his school sucks.

  • @Davz99 Lies homie, i did varsity at 14 at hollywood dawg, so your comment is pure bullshit. The coaches look for players with skills.

  • Wow. That's great. That's one smart kid, and a smart mother for teaching him.

  • @morph995 hes on the fucking varsity basketball team nuff said that dosent work out here he comes to the nba..

  • I now know why the KKK was made. They're too jealous of him.

  • fucking genious..wish i got into this stuff as a yound teen lol

  • @morph995 Smfh
