(cont) favors the Republicans.
Journalists themselves, by admission, are often Democratic-leaning, sure. And there is definitely a liberal bias in mainstream media in terms of surface social issues. But when it comes to large, all-encompassing issues of enormous consequence, the media is neutral to conservative---again, reluctance to rock the boat.
People stuck on the "liberal media" thing are only looking at the small stuff, and are failing to see the larger picture.

No. The mainstream media (CBS, ABC, CNN, etc.) do not operate with any ideology, except the ideology of money. (except MSNBC, which does have a liberal slant). And the ideology of money, above all, favors preserving the status quo. And since the status quo is that the media conglomerates are all owned by large corporations with ties to powerful interests including the military-industrial complex, the media will rarely rock the boat too mucy. And not rocking the boat almost always (continued)

Your being kind with me and I do appreciate it! No objection to your words or phrases!
It's just an insult to my intelligence when I watch MSNBC, NBC, CNN, ABC, CBS, Keith Olbermann, Chris Matthews, Tom Brokaw, David Greggory, Katie Couric, and Gwen Ifill etc.
The objectivity of reporting political news is mostly spun with an agenda driven ideology.
Many news items reported on "Talk Radio" don't make the (Main Stream Media) headlines! This bias is decades old and getting worse!

Uh, try again.
Listened? Check.
Read? Check.
Watched? Check.
If you're objecting to my characterization of the rightwing figures in question as "pundits posing as journalists," I'd like to hear just why you disagree. I'm sure even THEY wouldn't argue with that basic description, although they might want to use different words.

Have you ever listened to conservative "Talk Radio"? Evidently not!
I should know better to comment in "YouTube" with uninformed mind-numbed robots like you!
If you were any smarter I could water you!

It's too bad she had a hard time covering up her disgust here, but that is hardly in the same league as being a pundit posing as a journalist. (And I certainly share that disgust. The convention was a vulgar display of brutish ignorance and provincialism.)

RJupiter2:
First of all, you need to get over this "liberal elite" nonsense that the Hannity/O'Reilly crowd have drilled into your head. "Elites" have nothing to do with anything here.
Second, regarding whether liberals would cry foul if the moderator had been someone like Hannity or O'Reilly: Your premise is not valid because Ifil is NOT a liberal equivalent of those guys. She, unlike them, is an actual journalist who take the profession seriously. She does not engage in (continued)

I don't blame anyone for being disgusted with Palin.
-
She disgust me, I know which party I support but I try to be fair.
-
Sorry but I see not one difference between either face.
Soldierette - perhaps you are a child or you would remember that Clinton's men had a trigger on Osama Bin Laden but he declined to have them take him out then - hence 9/11, forcing Bush into the Iraq war. How are your history marks?
