2 large cloves garlic, finely minced
2 tsp. parsley, minced
1-1/2 Tbsp. extra virgin olive oil
1 to 1-1/2 lbs. of store bought frozen french fries, fried (I baked mine)

In a small bowl, combine the garlic, parsley and olive oil. When the fries are cooked, toss them with the seasoning in a large heat proof mixing bowl. If you want the fries more garlicky, use only one pound of fries.

I would suggest that you salt the fries. I think that that will help a bit with the flavor.

  • I was thinking when you were chopping those TWO cloves of garlic that they must've been whoppers. I always just pretty much double whatever any recipe calls for.

They need salt. Potatoes *always* need salt. I'd even give them a sprinkle of Slap Ya Mama to kick 'em up.

  • @anmoose Tried them again last night and added salt but still not a whole heck of a lot of bang. I have decided that our garlic is probably old (like everything else). I will go to the farmer's market and see if I can't get some supposedly fresher stuff

  • OMG. I am SO making these tomorrow night with a ribeye steak. Think I will press the garlic to get more juice (I just stick a bunch of cloves in a baggie and roll them with my rolling pin. Gives you almost a paste that is VERY potent. Then use a rubber spatula to get it ALL out.) and add salt and pepper.

Such an awesome idea! Thanks for posting this one. My life will never be the same. LOL

  • @gypsylor Did you make them? like them? I believe I have a tube of garlic paste. Maybe I will add some of that. Hmmm. I retried this last night with salt and still did not get what I was looking for. I think our garlic is "old" like everything else that si shipped here. Ugh.

  • They need salt and vinegar!

    :-)

  • have you ever ate fries with vinegar? saw that on tv once, and since then i love it. so maybe you could add some in your mixture. i know i will ;) PS i love your vids and the way you present them, you are like mommy showing to her little girl how to do stuff. keep 'em coming! :)

  • @CookingAndCrafting I did!!!! And they were AWESOME! However, I did change it up a it . . . . .I coated them first and THEN baked them. Then sprinled the salt and pepper on . . . . . I think maybe the olive oil crisped them up really good too . . . . . But the meal was a hit: Fancy fries (lol), ribeyes and a tomato, red onion, balsamic thing I do. You really made me look good with htis one!!!

  • ADD BACON :D

  • @CookingAndCrafting,

Scott would use ketchup on a donut... :-P

  • More Garlic, a lil sea salt and some parmesan cheese sprinkled over it would be good.
