This is a 1950 Chris-Craft Runabout that came in for us to do a restoration on.The wood was in good shape but the motor needed a total rebuild and the hull needed a full strip and refinish. We put 20 coats of varnish on it and added some custom touches. Jireh Customs can be reached at 256-686-2323

Why not chemical strip before sanding? Seems like it would save more wood....just asking.

There was not enough varnish on the wood to worry about using stripper. it was only a few coats and did not seem to have been properly applied to begin with. Since we were going to have to sand it anyway, we just sanded it off.
