Was Frank Zappa music before WMG spoilt everything. Money money money. Terrorists, freedom, do not think money money money greed is good, censorship will set you free, more greed, spend spend, buy stuff you don't need, money money opulence is good, i love WMG for not allowing me to advertise good music, encourage materialism and discourage original thought, trust your government, love and accept dictatorship, consume consume, watch plastic MTV and American gladiators ...Watch this in High Quality I recommend to you to have a better sound and picture. If watching this on YouTube, click on the bottom right of the video where it says View in High Quality.

Frank Zappa and the mothers of invention

Genius music

The album's rather unusual title, Frank would later say in an interview, comes from an actual snack that Frank enjoyed eating, consisting of a burnt Hebrew National hot dog sandwiched between two pieces of bread with mustard. It could also refer to the "sandwiching" of Zappa's ambitious and complex works between two innocuous doo-wop covers, as well as the "sandwiching" an alternating pattern of Igor's Boogie to Holiday In Berlin (Phase I, Overture to..., Phase II, Full-Blown).

Burnt Weeny Sandwich and Weasels Ripped My Flesh were also reissued together on vinyl as 2 Originals of the Mothers of Invention, with the original covers used as the left and right sides of the inner spread, and the front cover depicting a pistol shooting toothpaste onto a toothbrush.

Igor's Boogie is a reference to a major Zappa influence, composer Igor Stravinsky. 1. WPLJ (Dobard/McDaniels) 2:52
2. Igor's Boogie, Phase One 0:37
3. Overture To A Holiday In Berlin 1:27
4. Theme From Burnt Weeny Sandwich 4:32
5. Igor's Boogie, Phase Two 0:37
6. Holiday In Berlin, Full-Blown 6:23
7. Aybe Sea 2:46
8. The Little House I Used To Live In 18:42
9. Valarie (Lewis/Robinson) 3:14

  • i like zappa's music. and I kind of regret not seeing the video in it's original form. but this tune in replacement is also not bad. What is it, actually? (sorry for not searching through all the comments before asking)

  • @odolany

    It's Debussy - Prelude A L'apres-midi D'un Faune

I'm glad you like it. I should put that information up which I'll do now

  • @flowerpunkchip the book I've read lately was 'The Magical Mountain' where actually this tune was described (it's not an 'important' fragment, kind of prose transcription of music, but it's a great piece of literature that I got to remember very well). And last wednesday my friend was recommending me this music of he's own innitiative... I thought back then that it was a funny coincidence, so what I should think now? ;)

  • @odolany

    what should you think now?

i leave that entirely up to you :) I don't want to delve into an existentialist debate :)

i love coincidences most of the time

  • What a downer. Not the first time WMG has ruined me trying to check out new music.

  • @666slink

buy it, "burnt weeny sandwich" is an excellent album

  • The best way to enjoy this video is buy the "Holiday in Berlin Full Blown" track and play it while you watch.

  • I enjoy your little tirade about how you are "advertising" Frank's music but didn't even ask anyone from the Zappa Family Trust if they would allow you to do so. Do you know why Frank made the Beat The Boots box set? To steal back from those who stole from him. Don't lie to yourself about getting his name out there. The way to do that is have a video where you talk about him. You've done nothing.

  • Censored? what was instead?

  • Rats, rats, hot rats, I love this album. :-( Oh well, nice try

  • @jravell I don`t know. I belive that internet is post modern. We yet can`t handle internet.

  • check out my videos in honor of the great frank zappa baltimore represent

  • WMG are LOSING BY WINNING..

    HOW DUMB ARE THEY?

AS DUMB AS THEY ARE GREEDY. Get your SH*T TOGETHER, WMG.

FRANK IS LONG DEAD. And the music though great has a shelf life.

    Go suck a tailpipe, worms....

And YOU THINK YOU know ABOUT MARKETING?.......

I would not hire you to clean my toilets....

  • thanks for posting!!

  • Billy bob told me this was on slingblade??...

  • I wish people would cease referring to this as censorship. If there's $ to be made the record companies will put out instructional manuals on how to blow up the very bldgs housing the record company--they don't care, if there's a dollar 2 be made. On top of which, Frank wasn't THAT radical a guy anyway. WMGs trying to protect something they bought (rights) from being stolen. Object if u like, but it's the system we have. That they're making a questionable biz decision by disallowing free promot
