Phil's Condensed Films 6: Follow That Bird (1985)

This is the first movie I've done that I truly like. It's got Muppets doing all kinds of things: walking, moving around, driving cars, stealing keys, eating hubcaps, and touching each other inappro...

Wow, this video brought back memories, although it's a little strange to see how much you really do love it.

Do you remember that animated dream sequence where Big Bird imagines being with a family of his own, and in his bedroom we see a St. Louis Cardinals pennant. The music in the background is an off-key rendition of the traditional standard "No Place Like Home."

Yeah, that's a cool scene. I actually commented on it, but cut it to fit the YouTube length requirements. (I'm naturally long-winded...as if you couldn't tell...)

You know, maybe you ought to split this chapter in two parts not only to include the aforementioned scene, but also:
*Big Bird screaming "HELP! HELP!" in a climaxing pitch
*The Sleaze Brothers getting arrested for "counterfeiting, fraud, extortion, impersonating a dentist, stealing an apple from a kid" by the State Trooper (John Candy). I also like it when Sid cries "Sam! The bird's gone! The bird's gone!"

Yep, as silly as this movie is, it's just so much fun. I really do wish we got more Muppet films while Henson was alive. They're just not the same.

This was the only Sesame Street movie up until Elmo in Grouchland, which was made in the 2000s, I think. Are you sure it was a Muppet film? It doesn't ring a bell.

The bad guys who capture him paint him blue as apart of a sad little number that they made him do at their ripoff carnival.
