NASA astronauts from Mission STS 127 held an unprecedented Tweetup in Washington DC on Sept. 24, 2009. They answered questions, told twitterers about their mission and handed out fantastic 'goodie' bags to participants who were chosen from NASA and Astro followers on Twitter.

It was a really fun event and it was great to meet these courageous and amazing men and women in person. After the tweetup, the signed autographs, shook hands, answered more questions and took pictures with excited space enthusiasts. I was thrilled to be there and am already looking forward to attending the next one.

The astronauts, left to right on stage are: Commander Mark Polansky, Pilot Douglas Hurley, Mission Specialists Christopher Cassidy, Tom Marshburn, Dave Wolf and Canadian astronaut Julie Payette. Ms. Payette left early and does not appear in the clips at the end.
