  • Why do they hang around their shells even after they finish?

  • It takes a few hours before their exoskeleton and wings are dry/hard. Until then, they can't fly, and moving around would risk damaging their wings. So they just hang there until they are ready to fly away.

  • I am aware of no laws in the United States regarding the capture of these insects. They are far from being extinct. And yes, these were released after being filmed.
