  • There was a time when there were bands that played both be-bop and jump (early rhythm 'n' blues), and Allen's band mixed them even on one song - like this one. Lionel Hampton is another example.

  • William "Nose" Thompson is Marshall Thompson of the Chi-Lites father.

  • The bassist is my father, Benny Moten. Uncle Red came over for frequent jam sessions. A true class act!
