A quick preview of "Oakdale Cotton Mills - Close-Knit Neighbors," a new documentary from Mary Dalton about the longest continuously-operating textile mill in the country. For many years, most of the employees lived in the adjacent mill village as one big family. The final documentary is due January 2009.

As being a descendant of most of the members who worked in the Oakdale Mill, I am proud to know that there is a movie made about it. My ggg grandfather, gg grandmother, g grandparents and grandmother worked here, just to name a few. Long live Oakdale Mill.

This vid gave me great emotion and a great sense of loss. My grandmother and grandfather came from a small southern town. The saw the stars of LA and had to go (they where "fancy". My mom grew up in LA, when LA got bad, she married, and move to Vegas. Had me. Today Vegas is getting bad. These days I day dream of what if, no one left? I feel a calling I cant understand. A southern call. I dont know those people, but I miss them.
