Kay Russell said that she came up with idea for "Heat On The Street" after seeing a dumped electric fire outside a row of houses! and quickly connected that image with the civil unrest that was happenning in society at the time and wrote down the lyrics..

She passed me by but I wasn't that into my music then. Discovering her tonight, I'm seriously, seriously impressed by what i've heard. There's a real aggression coupled with a great knack for melody in her writing. Something really striking.
