Revolvers are very good for carry. reliable, and simple, but be sure to practice reloading under stress. tense, and shake your hands as you try to reload. as for cleaning. remove the grip so the solvent wont get on the rubber. take a 38/ 357 brush , clean the barrel, and cylinders. use an old tooth brush , clean the frame. oil the ejector rod. follow the manual to oil the internal parts via the frame pin. wipe the whole thing down, and you are done.

hornady critical defense is a great round for defense. check out their video. very consistent expansion, low flash at night. its designed for short barrel weapons. and the round is made to defeat heavy clothing.

Who the heck actually had the idea to put a locks in guns.... hate that.

@dantashell77 wtf single action is the best nit good for self defence but for learning how to use a gun and target practice

I checked out the Ruger LCR and the S&W no lock Md. 442. Side-by-side.
On the Ruger, I saw the lock & key and the warning label scrolled right into the gun's metal. I slammed the gun down and bought the Smith & Wesson Md. 442.
I never looked back.
S&W no lock is generally better than any Ruger produced.

the trigger pull is one reason i picked it up, plus the weight factor vis a vis the sp101, .357. nice vid.

Shot one today, didn't really care for it. I'm a big guy and I just couldn't get a very good grip with it. Felt like it was going to jump out of my hand when I was shooting it. I wasn't able to get a consistant grouping from 7 yards out. Past ten it really wasn't effective. Maybe with more time behind the trigger I would get better. My advise if you get this, really practice with it.

@sailorsteve56a Thanks for the good advice! Not the most fun to shoot I don't even use +p ammo it's just so lite to carry you almost forget it's there my .45 ultra carry kimber is much more accurate but it's difficult to tote around

Picked mine up today. At 30 feet it grouped very well. That is, once I got better with the trigger (used to autos). Very light, and not without it's share of recoil. But it points well, and hits instinctively from the hurried hip shot. Lots of center mass holes and head shots with this gun. Not for punching tacks, but it will if your being realistic about ranges. Good pocket rocket or keep it in the desk drawer. Great for small hands or a wife who doesn't love shooting but will defend homestead

Lol pocket rocket! :P This was the lightest plus P rated revolver I could find besides the S&W 340PD which is a 357 and only weighs 11.5 ounces dry. What kinda amo are you useing?
