On our first day at the Palladium Vallarta Resort & Spa it rained, still warm and humid, but from that first day on the sun shone bright and hot every day.
Yup, the spot is not good for beginners, but when the tide is high and the waves are small they can have fun too. There is a new website though that has all the surf info you'll need for the area, including surf spots, acoommodations, surfboard rental and surf shops, forecasts and more. Check surfpuertovallarta(dot)info.
Okay, well. It IS a nice resort. but.... its not gonna be very cold there and they never really have the air conditioning turned on. we went in the summer the fiirst time and almost died from the heat at night. to get them to fix it it takes a lot of yelling and persistance. Not great service at all. And, are you an advanced surfer? If you are, you should be able to get used to avioding the rocks... just not if your a beginner. Thanks!
I'm heading here at the end of February. Anything I should know other than the surfing? Which sucks, as I booked this resort when I saw the surf videos.
I would NOT recommend surfing here for beginners. the only place for nice surf is where the rocks are. The 1st time I came, i crashed on the rocks and got 11 seea urchin spines stuck in my feet. couldnt move for 2 daays. Go to Sayulita, about 20 minutes away. GREAT SURF.
