[Homage to Couperin and Gershwin, in the form of a spoof]Recently found manuscript by the reclusive Francois Couped'in, a good friend of PDQ Bach. We may never understand the enigmatic title to this piece, played here by Grigory Scottolov. [A light-hearted "homage" to Gershwin, Couperin, and to Grigory Sokolov, whose piano performance of Couperin's "Le Tic Toc Choc" is nothing less than magical. Find it here on YouTube.]

  • SO COOL! If I still played well I'd steal it! Am a huge G. Gershwin and P. Bach fan!

  • Thanks, Mikester. Feel free to use it any time. I think some may not get that this is a take-off/spoof. Please don't stop playing.

  • haha I never heard of this, but i grew up on pdq bach.

    excellent playing, by the way

  • Thanks, Adier. It is original, so you would not have heard of it. I too loved pdq bach; I heard them live once and it was great fun.

  • Bonjour EMDRGreg! "Les Rythmes Mystérieux de George" : LOL !!! I hope other ultra-authentic manuscripts will be found sleeping under protective spider's web in your intercontinental attic...

By the way, bravo for your romantic and jazz playing too.

  • By the way, Couperinette, I'm just about ready to try recording Chaminade's Meditation. I really love that piece. When I do, let me know what you think.

  • Alas... I must confess my almost 17th century's way of life! I do have an épinette but no camera - That I can open Youtube from my archaic computer (of course at candle light)is allready a miracle. And perhaps it's better not to hear all my false notes...

  • Couperinette! Nice to hear from you. I was hoping that you would not be bothered by my gentle fun with Couperin. Have you recorded anything for YouTube?
