  • Oh - forgot to add... about 2-3 cents over for the wound strings, about 5 cents in the middle and maybe 7 cents in the treble. Tuning the unisons as you go...

  • AGM - that's the Verituner for pocket pc

Jungbinkim - yes, a pitch raise allows the piano to "fall back" close to in tune - allowing a fine tuning right away.

  • Hi! Could you please tell me with how many beats per second above tuning fork is it safe to raise a string? (I don't know if one beat/sec is equal to a cent, sorry.)

  • actually one can raise the pitch above target by 1/3 of the amount of alteration and it will end up on pitch ready for tuning properly, providing it isn't too far away. For example, if the piano is on A=434 Hz and it therefore needs to be raised by 6 beats, raise it 8 beats which is 6 + (1/3 = 2).

  • every chord has one screw for tuning right? can i break a string while tunning it? thnx soz for my english... :)

  • I have a Kawai GS-50 buit in 1993. I have not tuned it for about nine years but it is flat by only 20 cents through out all 88 keys. I just checked it.. Now I am trying to tune it myself and does it need pitch raise? if so, by how much should i raise?

  • whats that software on minute 6:00 ?

    thanks! Regards.
