PART 1 of me constructing an arboreal acrylic tarantula terrarium.
I know these videos are a bit long and tedious, but wanted to cover all angles to help people watching on how to make their own in a step by step guide.

  • where did you get the details?

  • @reinuem What details? Thanks

  • @thespiderooms where did you get the details for making terrariums?. Judging by the vents, latches and hinges do not you carve it yourself?

  • @reinuem I made them up with a plan and found a place online that could cut to fit the acrylic to any size I wanted.

  • In the US acrylic sheets like that are rather expensive. You could almost just go buy a Exoterra tank for the same price as all the mats. On another note, its not as fun as building your own. Great work man.

  • @Codiejackson88 Yeah, acrylic is way more expensive than glass, I just wanted to give it a go myself. Thanks for the compliment!

there are lots of types of silicon, like the the silicone, some its for plastic

  • @linuxpowerification Silicon won't hold acrylic together, it just doesn't hold like it does on glass. Thanks

  • use silicon not that

  • @MrFozzyBear Hi mate, not sill at all. The mitre block is about 9", you can make it any size you want, it's up to you. It's screwed together. I only build tanks 8"x 16" but if you make a bigger block it would be easier to build a bigger tank. I just use acrylic (perspex) sheets 5mm in thickness with polished edges, that's all I know, I know there are strengthened acrylic out there called polycarbonate, but you don't need this for tarantulas.

    Thanks
