"3 of a Kind" - Lyrical Substance

Act II of hip-hop in my life was with two friends in college - and for a brief while we were known as Lyrical Substance. We made a few appearances while really functioning to boost the career of our primary emcee. The whole premise of the group revolved around a return to the sort of original hip-hop group styles - emcee and deejay.

This group later became a sort of backing group as personel changed, and still later on we joined with three other close friends to form a new group. We changed so frequently (group members over time: 3,4,5,4,3,2,5,2,7,2) it's hard to describe LS and it's subsequent forms as anything concrete. Our movement never caught fire and thus we moved on. While it was around though, LS was a good gig with some fun memories.

This particular appearance (not really a debut) actually led to several interesting events in the aftermath of the performance proving that you never know how people will respond to music. Oh snaps.
