Dissent IS patriotic, you know. Acting like a scared sheep and turning to the government for every little thing is foolhardy and an open invitation to fascism. If you want to hide, please do. But don't berate those of us with enough forethought to question authority. If the President is a fool, we have the right, and the DUTY, to say so. Real men do not cower and whimper in the dark, obeying blindly. Real men stand up to those they know are abusive, look them in the eye, and tell them to shut up

Another very good one, Ava. Thanks for all you do.

I cant believe I sided with you anti-war people 2,3,4 years ago. We NEED to win this war we NEED to know the middle east doesnt hold mass murderers or groups of them who go unchecked, unchallenged. SHIT! If it takes us into Russia...If it takes us into this White House So be it! You far leftists would argue with a damned fence post. I wouldnt, its a waste of my short breathed time. Bush couldnt have won for losing. If Bush had done nothing he would have been called the biggest coward ever.

But the can that holds the least rattles the most. Shake it harder and it gets louder. A real man wouldnt say a damn thing. But that doesnt mean he doesnt do something about it. And it doesnt mean he becomes a staple in leaderships side just cause he had a rough few years that turned into 20 when the sacrifice was worth dying for. Yalls spine is as short lived as a duracell battery. But what do I know Im a healthy young (22)white American male who didnt make 2k last year but smokes a pack a day

These videos are so needed. people here debate and argue about the war, but we're not the ones killing, dying, losing limbs, and/or being traumatized daily. Peace!

Looks Good. However I have a few suggestions to make it look better. One next time you film an interview don't leave so much head room, his head ends halfway up the screen and all is there is blank space, which is useless and distracting. You want to divide you screen into thirds up and down and always make sure you frame your subject's eyes in the upper third. Also there were kind of a lot of jump cuts. Maybe you could have gotten more photos and covered some of your edits.
Avery, I am a contributor and admirer of your work, but this is not a movie: there is NO visual interest or variation at all. I'm afraid it takes a dramatic and awful subject, and makes it dull. Keep the audio, but add visuals (you have the skill) or nobody will watch it

crowsonguy.. this wasn't supposed to be a thrilling or visually exciting video or a "movie." thanks for the suggestion, but i'm going to stick with what i have because it is what the short film contest calls for.
