I Caught Myself Ep.2 Pt.1

Wow she’s pretty. That’s all I could think for a few seconds as she rubbed her head. My brain wasn’t working right for a second, and then I came back to reality as she said “Ow.”
“Are you sure you’re okay?” I asked.
“No, really. Just a bump.”
“I’m really sorry about that. I didn’t see you.”
“It’s okay. By the way, my name’s Kelly.”
Cute name I thought. “Nick. Nice to meet you…or maybe not at the moment.” I gave a short embarrassed laugh. She laughed a little, but nervously.
You’re in the Jonas Brothers, right?”
Oh great. Ruin it by mentioning you’re a JB fan. “Yeah.” I said sheepishly.
“Cool. Well, I’m late for my soccer game. Bye.” She stood up and ran out the door without another word. I stood there looking after her. She walked out on me! Without the whole fan routine: Scream, say “I love you!,” ask for an autograph, hug me, run away screaming and telling friends her experience. She didn’t do ANY of that. W-O-W…. I like her.
My phone vibrated. I picked it up. “ Hello?”
“Nicholas? Where are you and your brothers?,” Mom asked. Weird. I left Kevin and Joe wrestling in the living room. They usually fight the whole day once they’re at it.
“I’m at the basketball court. I don’t know where Joe and Kevin are. I thought they were at home.”
“Well, I’ll call them. Get home now. Dinner is almost ready.”
“Okay, bye.”
“Love you Hon.”
I shut my phone and started home. I passed the mall and the park where Joe and Kevin might be; but I didn’t bother looking. I’m hungry and I need food NOW. I passed a soccer field where a game was going on. I look over just a few minutes and then I saw the girl again. Kelly. That’s her name. I’ll call mom to tell her I’ll be late for dinner. I walked to the bleachers and sat down. I never took my eyes off Kelly. She was REALLY good. She made 3 goals. Her team won in the end. She ran over to two adults on the other bleachers across the field. Her parents I think. I walked over without thinking and stood just a few feet from her now. She and her parents started to walk in my direction. Kelly looked at me without really noticing. Then she did notice. She stopped and her parents looked at her curiously.
“Kelly,” her mom asked.
“Nick?,” She stared at me in shock and surprise which was quite amusing. Her parents turned to me. Her mother was curious and awed. Her dad was… well he looked suspicious, protective…and about ready to grab a rifle and stick it where it really hurt and start shooting. I was a little frightened by him, but I tried to ignore both parents.
“Hi Kelly.”
