Derive

The derive is a practice invented by the Lettrist and Situationist movement. It involves one drifting through an urban environment. A person escapes from using predictable or familiar paths to explore a city. The intentions are to have new encounters with the everyday, to engage the city with a fresh perspective and to be more aware or sensitive to one's surrounding in an urban landscape.
