Honestly, I always thought Clapton was overrated.
For example, listen to the long outro to "Layla." There's a nice chord progression on the piano playing, and Clapton sounds lost. He sounds like he can't find the chords. The first time I heard it, I wanted to say, "C'mon Eric; it's not THAT difficult. Try to keep up!"

Shit choices for me. If we are comparing guitarists why not to put some of their best solos, not just parts of the most popular songs?
Lets say, for Hendrix some of his Band Of Gypsys stuff, where his guitar playing was amazing, and Clapton from Cream, like Crossroads or Sleepy Time Time from Live Cream Vol. 2.
For me, Clapton AND Hendrix were on the same music level, the best guitar players of the 60s in my opinion, later, well, Hendrix died, Clapton started to play more pop music.
