Dunlop Falken Tyres exhibited the DIREZZA Series of tires at the Tokyo Auto Salon 2009 show.

The SPORT Z1 STAR SPEC tire is a top of the line Dunlop sport radial tire that features a "highly adjustable 01 tread compound" to provide a powerful grip and advanced control performance from the moment that driving begins at low temperatures while also maintaining durability and heat resistant shear drop performance.

The DZ101 is a sport tire with improved dry and wet performance that offers superior riding comfort and improved hydroplaning performance. The tire also features a low noise hybrid band that provides strong resistance to tread wear. The 03G tire features a multi-round tread profile, a high rigidity pattern, and clean, streamlined grooves to provide both a stable dry grip and excellent drainage performance.

@wdanda I've had the stock Potenza 050s, Continental DWS (an all-season, which was good for what I needed them to do, but definitely not a summer tire), and Yokohama ADVANS. For the price, the Star Specs really can't be beat, however if you're on a tighter budget, I've heard the Sumitomo HTR-Z3s are very good as well, and dirt cheap. Good luck, there's plenty to choose from!

Z1 Star Specs....quite possibly the best tire I have ever had on my S2000!
